I am sharing this volunteer opportunity that was brought to our attention.
Hope Smiles is partnering with Ascension WI to host a Medical Mission at Home event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at North Division High School in Milwaukee. The Medical Mission at Home provides real-time delivery of organized health and social services, including dental care.
On that day, the goal is for physicians, dentists, nurses and staff to provide free health care to 600 or so residents. Back in May, a similar Medical Mission at Home event was held in Racine and served more than 300 people. However, there weren’t enough dentist volunteers at that event and many people went away without care. If you have the time, consider volunteering at the Sept. 14 community event.
